Two pilot schemes running in Essex thanks to £703k funding from UK Community Renewal Fund.

Residents and businesses are being given the opportunity to train in Retrofit via fully funded courses, thanks to Essex County Council (ECC).

Retrofitting is the process of adding new technology or features to homes in order to make them more energy efficient.

This can play an important role in helping to reduce Essex’s Co2 emissions and supporting the county’s journey towards becoming net zero.

PACE Manningtree has received funding for two projects. The first project is an E-cargo bike scheme, and the second project is the development of a booklet on how people can reduce their carbon footprint.

Cllr Peter Schwier and Essex Forest Initiative lead Tom Moat plant trees as part of the award-winning campaign to make Essex greener.

The Essex Forest Initiative has won a prestigious Green Apple Environment Award, as part of a campaign to reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.

Essex County Council’s (ECC) initiative is a five-year project that involves planting 375,000 trees across the county. It is now in its third year and has already planted 143,059 trees.

Councillors visit latest solar installation

Installation at Hadleigh Country Park is part of a long-standing Essex County Council project to install solar panels across the county.

Councillors from Essex County Council and Castle Point Borough Council visited Hadleigh Country Park where solar panels have recently been installed.

Essex County Council (ECC) councillors Peter Schwier, Graham Butland and Mark Durham were joined by Castle Point Borough Council councillors Jillian Reeves, Jacqui Thornton and Andy Thornton during the visit.
